Why is a Bill of Lading so important?

A bill of lading is a document that lists a shipment of goods, including the sender, recipient, and any external damage to the goods. It is abbreviated as “BOL.” In auto transport, it is used to record any existing external damage before transport, as well as any new damage that happened during transit. This makes it the most important document for insurance claims.
